The Texas Workforce Commission paid out over $500 million in suspected fraudulent claims during the pandemic. If you had erroneous Unemployment Benefit Claims filed in your name you will need to report this fraud to the Texas Workforce Commission. However, the first step for Euless residents is to complete this Unemployment Benefit Fraud Reporting form so that you may obtain a report and phone number. Once you have filled out the form, please email it to pdrecords@eulesstx.gov.
You will receive a letter from Criminal Investigations Division with information needed to report the fraudulent claim to the Texas Workforce Commission.
Here are some “red flags” to be on the lookout for regarding fraudulent unemployment claims:
- Communications (usually postal mail) regarding unemployment insurance forms when you have not applied for unemployment benefits;
- Unauthorized transactions on your bank or credit card statement related to unemployment benefits;
- Any fees involved in filing or qualifying for unemployment insurance;
- Unsolicited inquiries related to unemployment benefits; and
- Fictitious websites and social media pages mimicking those government agencies.
