Emergency Notification System Update

**February 24, 2026 - Important update regarding the CodeRED emergency notification system**

Due to a national cybersecurity incident within the CodeRed system, the emergency notification system has been down since November. The City used this third-party subscription based service to send mass or targeted emergency alerts, such as severe weather warnings, traffic alerts, and other emergencies where residents need to be made aware quickly for life safety.

We are actively working to change systems. We understand the importance of timely notifications. During this waiting period, residents are encouraged to monitor local media through TV, radio, mobile apps, and enable Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on mobile devices to receive national and local alerts. We will share updates through our communication channels as we have additional information.
