The City of Euless' Fiscal Year begins on October 1. In the Spring, the City begins the annual budget preparation process, which includes opportunities for citizen participation and ends with the adoption of a final budget in mid-September.
Per the City Charter, the City Manager provides to the City Council the proposed budget by the beginning of August each year. Revenues and expenditures from each of the City's funds are presented in summary form.
The budget is filed with the City Secretary and is available to view online, at City Hall or in the Public Library. Several work sessions are held throughout the summer to allow citizens to hear presentations from departments for proposed projects, programs and equipment. In August, Public Hearings are held on both the Proposed Budget and the Tax Rate to again allow citizen feedback. The Budget is voted on in mid-September.
Citizen feedback is welcomed during the budgeting process. In addition to Budget Work sessions, the City of Euless holds Town Hall meetings in January and June in order to meet face-to-face with our residents. These meetings are designed for citizens to weigh in on how their tax dollars are spent and provide valuable guidance for the City Manager and City Council. To keep citizens informed, public notices are posted throughout the budgeting process.
