All stray animals (those whose owners have not been located) must be held for 72 hours before being adopted by a new family. Texas state law now requires that all animals being adopted must be spayed or neutered. This simple step helps to reduce the number of unwanted litters and strays.
To adopt an animal:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Pay the appropriate fee.
- Sign a contract agreeing to spay/neuter the animal and vaccinate against rabies.
