Created in 1976, the Tree City USA program is designed to help promote community forestry. In order to be recognized as a Tree City USA, communities must: have a designated tree board, forestry professional or city department responsible for the care of trees in the community; pass a tree care ordinance; have an active forestry program in place with an annual budget of at least $2 per capita; and proclaim and host an Arbor Day celebration.

Since 1991, Euless has received the Tree City USA Growth award for demonstrating progress in its community forestry program. The prestigious Growth Award honors environmental impact and higher levels of tree care in Tree City USA communities.

In October 2001, Euless was awarded The Sterling Award, a designation awarded to communities that have participated in the Tree City USA Growth Award program for 10 years.

Trees provide multiple benefits to a community when properly planted and maintained, including improving the visual appeal of a neighborhood, increasing property values, removing air pollutants and providing habitats for wildlife. Since 1972 the National Arbor Day Foundation has been helping towns and cities lay the foundation for solid community programs by providing a framework of standards required for successful tree care.

Every year during the last weekend in April, Euless hosts its annual Arbor Daze festival - an internationally recognized festival since receiving two international awards from the International Festivals and Events Association and twice named the Best Arbor Daze Festival in the nation by the Arbor Day Foundation.
