Did you know that before you dig, the law requires you to call 811 to have buried utility lines located and marked? August 11 (8/11) serves as a reminder to always call 811 and your local municipality before digging.

Before you grab a shovel to plant a tree, install a mailbox, or start excavation for a pool, call 811 at least three business days before you dig. The 811 call center will coordinate with Atmos Energy, your electric company, and other utilities to mark utility-owned underground pipes and cables. Utility lines are located and marked with color-coded flags. Respect the flags by not digging close to them.
