TRA Transfer Service Main Project

WHAT IS THE PROJECT?

The Transfer Service Main (TSM) is a 60-inch water main that will extend from the Trinity River Authority (TRA) water treatment plant on Trinity Boulevard in Ft. Worth to the Murphy Drive pump station in Bedford. The transfer service main will provide an additional supply of water to the Murphy Drive Pump Station to meet the growing demand for water by Euless, Bedford, Colleyville, North Richland Hills and Grapevine. It will supplement the existing 48-inch water main that currently services the Murphy Drive pump station.

I LIVE IN EULESS. HOW WILL THE CONSTRUCTION AFFECT ME?

The TSM alignment in Euless begins at South Pipeline Road and extends north along the east side of Westpark Way behind the curb to Christopher Lane. The TSM will turn east along and within the street pavement of Christopher Lane to Park Hill Drive. The TSM will then head north within the street pavement along the east side of Park Hill Drive and then under Marlene Drive.

WHEN WILL THE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS GET TO CHRISTOPHER AND PARK HILL?

The contractor for the TSM project anticipates being in the Christopher/Park Hill area in August, 2009. The actual time will depend on weather conditions and the actual progress along Westpark Way.

HOW LONG WILL CONSTRUCTION ON CHRISTOPHER/PARK HILL TAKE?

The contractor for the TSM project anticipates being able to install 50 to 100 feet of water main per day. Based on this, the construction in this neighborhood will require approximately 10 to 20 working days.

WILL CHRISTOPHER/PARK HILL BE CLOSED DURING CONSTRUCTION?

These roads will experience temporary partial closures during the work day. At the end of the work day, the contractor will restore access to adjacent property. The Contractor will backfill and install temporary pavement over the pipe as the pipe is installed.

WILL MY DRIVEWAY BE BLOCKED?

As the construction proceeds along Christopher and Park Hill, driveways along the north side of Christopher and along the east side of Park Hill will be temporarily inaccessible. At the end of each work day, the contractor will restore access to all properties.

WILL THE CONTRACTOR KEEP THE STREET SAFE DURING CONSTRUCTON?

Yes. At the end of each work day, the contractor will backfill the trench and install fencing/barricades to provide a safe area.

WILL MY WATER OR SEWER SERVICE BE INTERRUPTED?

During construction, some services may be damaged, but they will be immediately restored by the contractor. The City of Euless will provide backup repair support as needed. Phone numbers for TRA, the contractor and the City of Euless are provided at the end of this sheet.

WHAT IF MY LAWN OR IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS DAMAGED?

The contractor will repair/restore any damages as a result of construction activities. These include grass/sod, irrigation, landscaping, sidewalks, curb and gutter, driveways, mailboxes, etc.

WILL CHRISTOPHER AND PARK HILL BE REPAIRED AFTER CONSTRUCTION?

Yes. When the water main construction is complete and the testing is complete, the contractor will replace the asphalt pavement from gutter to gutter.
