Historical Preservation Committee Needs
The Euless Historical Preservation Committee is interested in acquiring artifacts from between 1850 and 1930 for the City's Museum. Ensure your precious heirlooms are displayed and enjoyed by visitors to the Fuller House Museum by donating them to the Historical Preservation Committee. Certain items may be purchased depending on Museum needs.
The Committee is also interested in acquiring a life size exhibit horse to display an old leather fly net. If you know of anyone interested in donating or selling one please contact the City.
The Committee is compiling a contact list of students who attended the Euless School (currently South Euless Elementary School) between 1914 and 1955; please contact the City if you or anyone you know attended the school between these years.
Many people in Euless know that Calloway Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in the area. What most people don't know is that Calloway has a Texas State Historical Marker, it was once located inside the Euless city limits and many of the Euless founding families are buried there. The Committee is looking to you for help in locating various "lost burials" on the property. Most of these burials are half a century or older, and due to the burial methods of the time, vandalism to the marker text, family members moving away, etc., the Committee is unable to locate several "lost burials" on the property. If you or someone you know has any information regarding old burials at Calloway Cemetary, please call Ofa-Mary at 817-685-1649.
Wedding at Heritage Park
On Saturday, June 12, Larry Pelzel, of the Euless Parks Department, and his bride Patty got married on the front porch of the Himes Log House.
Free Tours
Free tours of Heritage Park are offered on the second Saturday of every month from 1 - 5 p.m. Group tours available on different days depending on staff availability. Contact Ofa Mary at 817-685- 1649 or email her to arrange group tours.
