EULESS JUNIOR ANGLERS DAY AT WILSHIRE PARK
Saturday, August 16, 9 a.m. - noon
Wilshire Park, 315 Sierra Dr.
Join us at Wilshire Park for a great day of family fun! The Texas Junior Anglers organization will stock Wilshire pond with 500 pounds of catfish. It's absolutely free, and equipment will be available for all the kids who need it. Great prizes will be given out in various age groups and categories. The tournament is for kids only, but parents may fish after the competition. Free for all participants!

"THE TREASURE IN YOU" CONCERT

The Treasure in You is a live play that mixes education and musical entertainment. It's a memorable experience for children and parents alike as they see the importance of reading through the eyes of a little girl named Rita. She wakes up in Reading Treasureland and meets many new hilarious friends who help her find her way back home. The Treasure in You cast consists of Texas teachers from all over the Metroplex who want to remind us all that learning is fun!
THE IRVING PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA FAMILY CONCERT
Blast Off! and other selected pieces, with special guest

Join Conductor Sergio Espinosa for this one of a kind orchestra performance under the evening stars. BLAST OFF! is a narrated travelog of a trip into space. The orchestra uses instrumental groups within the orchestra to tell the story. Special guest will be 12 year-old Euless resident Lewis Warren, Jr. Lewis began playing piano at age 3 and has entertained audiences all over the world. He has won various piano competitions including the International Russian Music Piano Competition. This prestigious orchestra recently celebrated their 20th season. Tickets $5 - all General Admission - (checks or cash) and will be available at the Midway Recreation Center (300 W. Midway, 817-685-1666), beginning September 2.
STARS OVER EULESS - NOBLE PLANETARIUM

Did you know that the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History's 60-year old Noble Planetarium was the first major Planetarium named after a woman? Planetarium Director Linda Krouse will conduct a presentation on different elements in the nighttime sky. Planetarium staff will also bring out powerful telescopes so kids can gaze into outer space and learn about the stars and planets in the sky. Bring a flashlight and blanket for the entire family and enjoy a great evening of educational fun. Free for everyone!

This year's Halloween Thing will feature interactive games, arts and crafts and our very own Star Kids Karaoke Stage. People of all ages will have a blast as they welcome in the Halloween weekend. EULESS HISTORY IN PHOTOS EXHIBITION

The Historical Preservation Committee has been working all year on digitally scanning pictures in its rich collection. The City will present the Euless History in Photos Exhibition this November at our beautiful Heritage Park. Hundreds of photos will be displayed including the first founding families of Euless, schools, homes and other original sights that only remain in photographs. The Historical Preservation Committee will be there to conduct presentations and answer any questions that you may have. Admission is free, as well as the refreshments. The first fifty visitors will receive a free disk of the Faun Boyd Cookbook. Learn how to make possum pie or mix a cure for baldness in this cookbook, first published in 1886. Come out and enjoy some free entertainment before the start of the parade. This event is designed just for kids and includes carnival games, face painting, balloon artists, arts and crafts, bounce houses, and a special appearance by Santa! Free fun for ages 3+.
CHRISTMAS PARADE OF LIGHTS "A LONE STAR CHRISTMAS"

The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at Midway Dr. and Fuller-Wiser. It will travel west on Midway and end at Trinity High School.
Celebrate the spirit of Texas at this year's Christmas Parade of Lights. This event is a spectacular display of moving lights. Organizations of all kinds are welcome to enter floats in the best parade in Texas! Let your imagination run wild as you consider this year's theme - "A Lone Star Christmas." HERITAGE PARK CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

The Fuller House, McCormick Barn and the 157- year-old Himes Log House will all be decorated for the season. Choirs will be there to sing your favorite Christmas songs. Visit our petting zoo or ride the Christmas Choo-Choo. Kids young and old can visit Santa and make their own Christmas ornaments. Members of the Euless Historical Preservation Committee will conduct guided tours of the oldest brick house in Euless. And we'll have free hot chocolate, lemonade and cookies for everyone! Holiday cheer and Euless history wrapped up in one great afternoon!

The City of Euless Parks & Community Services Department designs, implements and produces several special events throughout the year. Each one is special & unique and is centered on the family. We need volunteers for each event because without volunteers our events would not survive.
