Citizen Academies
Did you miss the last Citizen's Academy Class for the Police or Fire Departments? Never fear, residents 18 and up can apply anytime throughout the year, and they will keep your application on file. Classes are currently scheduled for August and December.
The purpose of the academies is to educate and provide insight to citizens on the various divisions of the departments. These classes are taught by police officers or firefighters with expertise in their respective specialty fields. The program involves hands-on activities and field trips to fire or police facilities.
Euless Citizen's Fire Academy
The Citizen Fire Academy is a program designed to open the lines of communication between the Euless Fire Department and the community. The Citizen Fire Academy is dedicated to increase public awareness of the operations of the Euless Fire Department and creating a safer environment at home and the work place. The class members will accomplish this through demonstrations and participation. It is our feeling that an informed citizen helps keep our community safe.
The Fire Academy will cover such topics as:
- History of the Euless Fire Department
- EMS
- Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
- Search and Rescue
- Extrication
- Live Fire Training
- Bomb Recognition/Bomb Dog Demonstration
- Careflite
- CPR
- Hazardous Materials
Euless Citizen's Police Academy
The mission of the Euless Citizen's Police Academy is to provide the citizen's of Euless a better understanding of the dedication and integrity of the Police Department. The Academy is a twelve-week course covering:
- Police History & Community Policing
- Polygraph Examination
- Ethics & Internal Affairs
- Traffic Enforcement (Practical)
- Identity Theft
- Crime Scene
- Emergency Operations
- Auto Theft
- Crime Victims Assistance
- Courts & Other areas of Criminal Justice
