Texas Star Undergoing Renovation

We all need a little face lift now and again. The ten-year old Texas Star Conference Centre is doing just that. Renovations began at Texas Star Conference Centre in February. The construction will be paid for by car-rental tax revenues. The renovation and expansion will take nearly a year until completion. This will not affect the golf course, Raven's Grille or the Pro Shop.

The expansion on the south side of the building will begin first and is scheduled to be complete during fourth quarter of 2008. A full-sized catering kitchen will be added along with an additional conference room to allow for capacity of 300 guests. In addition, two break-out rooms will be added for groups of 20 or less and improved audio-visual equipment including three mounted projectors and drop down screens will be installed throughout the conference centre.

The Raven's Grille will then move to the southern end of the building. The chef's will take over the full-sized catering kitchen and the small conference room will be used as Raven's Grille. The small kitchen will be increased to more than one and a half times its current size and the patio will be extended and enclosed with the capability of opening windows during nice weather. North side construction should be completed around February 2009.

Showing our dedication to the environment, green building techniques will be used during the renovation of the conference center. Sound deadening panels made from recycled polymers will be installed as well as low water urinals, toilets and sinks. Fluorescent lights will be replaced with incandescent light bulbs and all appliances will have an Energy Star rating from the government. A new air conditioning system will also allow for more energy efficiency.

These changes are much anticipated by all who use Texas Star and will allow us to continue to provide great service in a quality facility to our existing clients and new clients.
