Four Hours in History

What does four hours in history mean to you? For the Historical Preservation Committee it could mean scanning one hundred historical photos for the "Historical Album," giving a tour of Heritage Park, transcribing an oral history recording of the area, or helping maintain the grounds of Calloway Cemetery. To the Committee, four hours a month means the preservation of the area's history for generations of Euless residents to come.

History

The Historical Preservation Committee is currently working with the Euless Library Foundation on the "Historical Mural" to be displayed at the Library. This is a great opportunity for you to help sponsor the project by buying a tile in memory of a loved one, commemorate an event or have one made with your family name on it (see Library section for details).

Work has begun on a "Historical Photo Album" of the surrounding area. Hundreds of photos of homes, properties, people, etc. are in the process of being scanned. If you have old photographs and would like to include them in the Euless historical album, your photos will be scanned and returned to you within seven business days.

If you have a little bit (or a lot) of interest in history, and you've thought about volunteering but never got around to it, this is your perfect opportunity to make a difference with the many on-going projects the Committee is working on. Help us preserve and promote awareness of the historical heritage of the area for future generations. To find out how you can help, please contact Ofa "Mary" at 817-685-1649 or e-mail her.
