CHRISTMAS PARADE OF LIGHTS - "A LONE STAR CHRISTMAS"

Saturday, December 6, 6:30 p.m.
Midway Rec Center, 300 W. Midway Dr.

The Parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at Midway Dr. and Bear Creek Parkway. It will travel west on Midway and end at Trinity High School.

Organizations of all kinds may enter floats in the best Parade in Texas! Let your imagination run wild as you consider this year's theme - “A Lone Star Christmas.” After the parade, join us at Trinity High School for float-award announcements. HERITAGE PARK CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

Saturday, December 13, 1 - 5 p.m.
Heritage Park, 201 Cullum Dr.

Celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas at historic Heritage Park. Members of the Euless Historical Preservation Committee will conduct guided tours of the 151-year-old Himes Log House and the Fuller House, and kids can visit with Santa! Holiday cheer and Euless history wrapped up in one great afternoon!

All Euless residents are welcome to come by and use the recreation center for FREE! Various program instructors and a personal trainer will be available for questions. Start the New Year out on the right foot. Get a fitness membership at the Midway Recreation Center. Annual memberships are as low as $5 a year.

20th ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING EVENT

Saturday, January 10, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Midway Park, 300 W. Midway Drive

Don't throw away your Christmas tree: Recycle it! The city uses the mulch throughout the year to maintain city parks and medians. Residents may bring their own bag to fill with mulch for their gardens or flowers. Limit one bag per person. The Parks Department may work with residents on additional quantities if available. Residents may dispose of LIVE Christmas trees only (with no ornaments or lights) at the designated area of Midway Park between December 26 - January 10. On January 10 the city will host a tree mulching demonstration and will give away bags of mulch and tree saplings to the public. Additionally, hot dogs and drinks will be available for free to anyone who participates in the recycling event. For more information call 817-685-1650.

GREETING SOLDIERS AT DFW AIRPORT

The City of Euless has been assigned to be a proud participant in the R & R Flights at DFW Airport from February 2 - 8. U.S. Soldiers are coming home for their 2-week R&R and we are going out to welcome them. Before arriving at DFW, call the R&R update hotline at 972-574-0392. Please call after 8 p.m. the night before as well as in the morning to make sure the flight is still on-time. Transportation will be provided for those who need it. Each soldier is provided free snacks and other items. Donations are accepted. Please sign up by January 10, and you will receive a free t-shirt. A registration form may be downloaded from the City's website at www.euless.org. Call Mary at 817-685-1649 to sign up or to arrange donations.

ONCE UPON A PRINCESS PARTY

Princesses, put on your favorite dress and enjoy an evening of pampering as we watch Disney's Enchanted. Celebrate Valentine's Day as you enjoy a tea party, arts and crafts, and a visit from a very special princess. Each princess will be introduced on our very own royal red walkway where she will curtsy to the crowd. Bring a blanket and stretch out on our gymnasium floor and get ready for a great moviegoing experience.

STORY WALK

Bring the magic of books to life as you enjoy a stroll through the park. Fitness and reading combine in this fun family event that puts readers directly involved into the story. After the walk, grab some refreshments, sit back, and listen to the Euless Librarians read some more great books. The event is great for all ages and is free. StoryWalk™ was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in cooperation with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedetrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

TARRANT AREA FOOD BANK

Monday, March 16, 9 a.m. - noon
Meet at Midway Recreation Center, 300 W. Midway

Volunteers are needed to help the Tarrant Area Food Bank with packaging food for those in need. We will meet at 7:30 a.m. to take vans to the location. If you are interested, please call Jerry Poteet at 817-685-1449 or e-mail him. We will take the first 20 people. Doughnuts and juice provided.

EASTER EGG STUFFING PARTY

Wednesday, March 18, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

We will have over 5,000 plastic eggs to stuff with tons of candy, so we can use all the help we get! We will provide free sodas and pizza for all participants. If you are interested, please call Jerry Poteet at 817-685-1449 or e-mail him.

EASTER EGG SCRAMBLE

What's an Easter Egg Scramble? Come out and see! It's a mad dash by over 500 kids to snatch up as many toy and candy filled plastic eggs as they can. We will have arts and crafts, games and face painting. It's a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Each scramble will be divided into different age groups as listed below.

Scramble Times/Ages: 10:30(0-3), 10:45(4-5), 11:15(6-7), 11:30(8+).

TEXAS TRASH OFF

Saturday, April 4 , 9 a.m. - noon
Meet at Incredible Pizza, 1201 W. Airport Freeway

Volunteers are needed for the annual Texas Trash Off. Meet us at Incredible Pizza for coffee, juice and doughnuts. Help us as we go into the heart of Euless to pick up trash to beautify our community. Afterwards, meet back at Incredible Pizza for free pizza, drinks and a Texas Trash Off t-shirt.
