Meet the New City Council
Mayor Mary Lib Saleh - Term expires: May 2008
Mayor Saleh has served on the City Council since 1989 and has
served as Mayor since 1993. Saleh represents Euless in many
organizations: Texas Municipal League, National League of Cities,
U.S. Conference of Mayors, Northeast Leadership Forum, Tarrant
County Mayor's Council, Texas Health Resources, Tarrant
Regional Transportation Council, HEB Chamber of Commerce,
North Texas Commission, the HEB Harris Methodist Hospital
Board, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Euless
Development Corporation Board and the Crime Control and
Prevention District Board. Her hobbies include reading, traveling
and flower arranging.
Place 2, Mayor Pro Tem Leon Hogg - Term expires: May 2008
Mayor Pro Tem Leon Hogg has served on the City Council since 1996 and was
Mayor Pro Tem in 2000. He currently serves on the Animal
Shelter Advisory Board and the HEB Economic Development
Foundation. He was inducted into the HEB Sports Hall of Fame
in 2003. He is involved in various community and civic affairs. He
is a graduate of the inaugural class of the Euless Citizens Fire
Academy and graduated from the 12th class of the Euless Citizens
Police Academy. In addition, he is a charter member of the Euless
Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association. He represents Euless
in the National League of Cities, and he enjoys gardening, fishing
and golfing.
Place 1, Tim Stinneford - Term expires: May 2010
Council Member Stinneford is a newly elected member of the City
Council. Stinneford previously served on the Zoning Board of
Adjustment. He is a member of the of the Citizen's Police
Academy Alumni Association, Citizen's On Patrol, Citizen's Fire
Academy Alumni Association and an inaugural member of the
Citizen's Emergency Response Team. In his leisure time, he
enjoys reading, movies and playing as much golf as possible. In
2006 he received the Presidential Bronze Volunteer Service
Award for volunteering at least 100 hours. Tim and his wife Faye
have been married for 28 years. They have one daughter, Julie and
one grandson, Dylan.
Place 3, Linda Martin - Term expires: May 2010
Council Member Martin was elected to the Euless
City Council in 2004. She moved to Euless from
California in 1984. She retired from American
Airlines in 2003 after 35 years of employment. She
is a member of the Euless Citizens Police Academy
Alumni Association and was a charter member of
the Citizens Fire Academy, as well as a founding
member of the Citizens Fire Academy Alumni
Association and is a graduate of the Citizen's
Emergency Response Team. She represents the
Council on the H.E.B. Teen Court Advisory Board.
Her primary hobbies are traveling, reading and
learning new things.
Place 4, Charlie Miller - Term expires: May 2008
Council Member Miller has served on the City
Council since 1993. Miller is the president of the
Southwest Assurance Group, a subsidiary of the
K&S Group where he sits on the Board of
Directors. He serves on the Euless Crime Control
and Prevention District Board, the Euless
Development Corporation Board and is the Council
liaison to the Grapevine/Colleyville ISD as well as a
member of the HEB Rotary Club. He enjoys
basketball, baseball, jogging and golf.
Place 5, Glenn Porterfield - Term expires: May 2009
Council Member Porterfield has served on the City
Council since 1999. He is a member of the Euless
Crime Control and Prevention District Board, and
is a past president of the HEB ISD Education
Foundation. Porterfield is a member of the HEB
Rotary Club, the Euless Library Foundation, and is
a past member of the DFW International Airport
Board of Directors. He is a retired banker and
enjoys playing golf.
Place 6, Perry Bynum - Term expires: May 2009
Council Member Perry Bynum was recently
elected to the Euless City Council. Bynum is the
Emergency Management Coordinator and
Emergency Medical Services Coordinator in
Haltom City. He previously served on the Euless
Planning and Zoning Commission, the Zoning
Board of Adjustment and Citizens Corps Council.
Bynum has served as the Euless Athletic
Association Commissioner as well as President
for the Trinity High School Baseball Booster
Club. Bynum and his wife Lisa have two children,
Josh and Lacey. He enjoys baseball, golf and
spending time with his family.
