Reading Garden Beckons at Library
Want a peaceful place to sit outside and read? Try the new Reading Garden at the Euless Public Library. This recently installed amenity offers four separate reading areas with trees, benches, flowers, and hedges and is located on the east side of the building near the large sculpture. We think that it is a wonderful addition to the library. Try it; we think you'll like it.

"Zarape de Cuentos" - Consuelo Samarripa, Bilingual Storyteller
In honor of September 15 - October 15 being Hispanic Heritage Month, the Euless Public Library is proud to be bringing bilingual storyteller Consuelo Samarripa for a special performance on Saturday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m.

A zarape is a Mexican coat of many colors and cuentos is Spanish for "stories." Seņora Samarripa says that stories are cultivated and woven with the many colors of our world cultures and history and that a story is a gift. Whether you speak English or Spanish or a little of both, you will be entranced by her "Zarape de Cuentos."

This free program is a gift to Euless, especially aimed at elementary aged children, but everyone is invited.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month
Help the library celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month in September. We will have popcorn, promotional items and other fun activities. A library card is the smartest card anyone can have. We have books-the newest bestsellers to classics--magazines, movies, CDs, audio books, all available for check out. We also have computers with Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as Internet access and online databases with information to help with everything from homework to repairing your car. Most of the databases are available for use at home. Also, don't forget your most valuable research assistant: your librarians. Libraries play an important role in the education and development of children. Studies show that children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning. Remember, a library card is the most important school supply of all.
