Volunteer Awards Given for 2006

Euless is very fortunate to have a dedicated, vigilant group of citizens in our community. Volunteers assist the City in a variety of ways, often working long hours without pay or recognition for the benefit of Euless. In turn, the City picks one person each year that embodies the very definition of a Volunteer to celebrate the dedication and service of these outstanding people and the difference they have made in the community.

Faye Stinneford

Faye Stinneford has received the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2006. Faye volunteers between 5-6 days a week with a variety of organizations. Between Euless Municipal Courts, Police Department, Fire Department, Recycling, Parks Department and the Citizens Police and Fire Alumni Associations, she manages to also volunteer with the Boy Scouts and Bear Creek Elementary School. In addition, she enjoys spending quality time with her daughter and grandson, both Euless residents. She spends literally hundreds of hours volunteering her time for the greater good of Euless with a smile on her face and a great attitude.

Andy and Debi Chesney

The Business of the Year has been a solid corporate citizen in Euless for 52 years and will continue to be for many years to come. B&B Wrecker, owned by Andy and Debi Chesney, continually gives to the community every way they can. From towing over 100 cars out of the mud after the rainy 2004 Arbor Daze to donating gifts to the Police and Fire banquets to towing donated vehicles, they are ready and receptive to help out however they can.

Logan Brooks

"As a volunteer for HEB Teen Court, Logan Brooks is an absolute asset," said Sherri Lewis, Teen Court Coordinator. "He's dependable, professional, mature, reliable, friendly and compassionate." Logan volunteers in the HEB Teen Court program and is able to effectively communicate with defendants, parents and other volunteers. Further, he must read and comprehend court documents and keep the information confidential. Through his involvement with Teen Court, Logan has touched the lives of literally hundreds of his peers and has made an impact on their lives by serving as a role model through his words and actions. Through careful questioning of the teen defendants, Logan helps them to take ownership of their actions and decisions. Logan has performed 105 hours of community service with HEB Teen Court over the past year. "Logan Brooks encompasses everything that I look for in a teen volunteer. Not only does he epitomize what I seek in a volunteer, he shares his knowledge with other teen volunteers to help them become the very best that they can be as well."
