Tree Trimming

Trees in Euless can provide a lot of beauty and shade, but they are also a potential hazard for fire trucks on their way to an emergency. The windshield of a fire truck was recently shattered due to a large limb hanging low in the street.

You or your neighbors may have recently received a letter from the Euless Fire Department requesting your help with trimming trees on your property. In the event of a fire or medical emergency in your home, or the home of a neighbor, it is vitally important that your neighborhood is rapidly accessible.

Fire trucks are taller than they may appear and require a fourteen foot clearance over the street. The City of Euless is unable to currently maintain trees or shrubs that overhang the right of way from private property. If you have trees that may require trimming, please measure the fourteen foot clearance from one foot behind the curb line.

Because of the potential for safety issues and delayed responses due to the presence of the limbs, we request that you please address this issue as soon as possible. If you have questions or would like more information, please call the Fire Department at 817-685-1600.

Your assistance in this matter is truly appreciated and can have a profound impact on the safety and well being of you and your neighbors.
