Mayor Mary Lib Saleh - Term expires: May 2014
Mayor Mary Lib Saleh was elected the first female mayor of Euless in 1993 after serving two years as a council member and two years as mayor pro tem. Mayor Saleh is a proponent of public art, historical preservation, and education, and has been instrumental in bringing talented people together who have been successful in documenting the history of the city through photographs, written histories, and historical markers.
In support of education, Mayor Saleh formed the Women in Government organization for Tarrant County elected women, and directed the formation of the Mayor’s Roundtable as a branch of the Northeast Leadership Forum. Many organizations have recognized Mayor Saleh for her contributions and leadership.
She serves on a number of local boards that address healthcare, business, and transportation. Mayor Saleh represents Euless in many organizations such as: Harris Methodist Health System Board, Mayor’s Council of Tarrant County, North Central Texas Council of Governments, Northeast Leadership Forum, Texas High Speed Rail & Transportation Corporation, and Texas Health Resources. Mayor Saleh is an active participant in the HEB Chamber of Commerce, Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition, North Texas Commission, Texas Municipal League, and the National League of Cities.
The Mayor currently serves on the following Euless Boards and Commissions: Crime Control and Prevention District, Euless Development Corporation, Industrial Development Authority, and the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #3.
Her hobbies include traveling and flower arranging in the Japanese art of Ikebana.
