Boards and Commissions

The City has thirteen Boards and Commissions which have been established by City Charter, City Council or State Law. Board members are selected by the City Council and appointments are for two or three-year terms. An appointment to certain boards requires an Oath of Office and Statement of Appointed Official affirming ethical behavior in securing your appointment.

Board appointees perform invaluable public service that can shape not only the quality of life, but reflect the varied interests unique to our community.

Applying

The City Secretary administers the appointment process for volunteer service on boards, commissions, and committees.  Applications are accepted in the City Secretary’s office during the “call for applications” period, which is typically in the fourth quarter of each year.  Applications are accepted for boards, commissions, or committees with current openings.  Applications are reviewed by the City Council and interviews are conducted at the request of the City Council.  Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by letter.

Qualifications

  • Must be a resident of the City of Euless
  • Must show interest and enthusiasm about the mission and efforts of the board
  • Must commit to the required volunteer time as a member or alternate
  • Must conduct themselves in a manner to avoid both actual and potential conflicts between their private self-interest and the public trust.
